Catalonia School

The Catalunya school began the project of integrating chess into the classroom during school hours in the 2011-2012 academic year. The objectives  of this program self-financed by the center and by the families themselves are:  

•   Promote the improvement of educational quality, both in terms of learning competency content and improving attitudes.  

• Influence didactic innovation and the application of playful and manipulative methodologies in teaching.

• Help to achieve self-knowledge, responsibility in relation to actions and democratic respect.

• Encourage and improve the cognitive structures of knowledge.

• Encourage mathematical reasoning and basic mathematical skills and competences.

• Encourage skills related to reading agility and comprehension, as well as general language skills
